OUR FOUNDER
Founder & Lead Counsel
Adv. Shish Pal Laler is the founder of Laler Giri & Associates and one of India’s most seasoned and respected advocates, with a practice spanning over 45 years before the Supreme Court of India, the Punjab & Haryana High Court, and High Courts across the country. Born on 5 October 1949, he was enrolled with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana in 1978 under Enrolment No. P-256/1978, and has since built one of the most distinguished careers in Indian law.
His academic and early public life already bore the hallmarks of an exceptional individual. He completed his Bachelor of Arts from Government College, Nahan, Himachal Pradesh in 1973, where he served as President of the Central Association and was recognised as the Best Athlete of the college. He then pursued his Master of Arts degree from Kurukshetra University in 1975, simultaneously serving as General Secretary of the Student Union. He completed his Bachelor of Laws from Kurukshetra University in 1978 and entered the legal profession with the energy and conviction of a man who had been preparing for the courtroom his entire life.
His early career was anchored at the Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, where he built a practice rooted in the concerns of ordinary people: service law disputes, land acquisition and compensation matters, pre-emption and revenue law cases, and criminal appeals. His excellence was swiftly recognised through institutional appointment. He served as Panel Advocate for Allahabad Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce, and was empanelled as Panel Advocate for the Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra. Most significantly, he was appointed Deputy Advocate General for the State of Haryana, one of the most experienced law-officer roles in the state’s legal apparatus, responsible for advising the government on complex constitutional and administrative questions.
In 1998, Adv. Laler was admitted to the Supreme Court Bar Association and allotted Chamber No. 213 at C.K. Daphtary Chambers, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, an address that has remained his professional home ever since. His transition to the Supreme Court was preceded by his appointment as Standing Counsel for the Government of Haryana before the Supreme Court of India, one of the most consequential institutional legal roles available to a practising advocate, requiring him to represent the state in matters of constitutional importance, service law, and criminal justice at the highest judicial forum in the country.
Across five decades of practice, Adv. Laler has argued and contributed to landmark jurisprudence in service law, employment law, pre-emption law, land acquisition, and criminal law. He has represented government bodies, public sector undertakings, banks, universities, and individual litigants with equal dedication.
HARDIK GIRI
Advocate & Arbitrator
Hardik Giri is an Advocate and Arbitrator based in New Delhi, bringing a dynamic and forward-looking approach to an already distinguished family legacy in law. Specialising in service law, commercial law, criminal litigation, and arbitration, Hardik has rapidly established himself as a sharp, precedent-driven advocate whose work spans some of India’s most demanding legal forums.
He regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, the Punjab & Haryana High Court, and various tribunals, bringing both the rigour of thorough legal research and the agility of strategic thinking to every matter he handles.
Hardik’s career trajectory reflects an exceptional breadth of formative experiences. He has had the privilege of assisting four Supreme Court judges on arbitration matters, gaining rare insight into judicial reasoning at the highest level of India’s judiciary. He has worked alongside eminent Experienced Advocates including V. Giri and Jayant K. Sud and has gained invaluable exposure at leading law firms such as Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Anand & Anand, and Hemant Sahai & Associates.
His appointment as Sole Arbitrator by the Delhi High Court is a testament to the trust and confidence the legal community places in his judgement, neutrality, and expertise in dispute resolution. It is a distinction that reflects not just legal knowledge, but the professional credibility that comes from years of principled and diligent practice.
